On 20 January 2023, researchers from the Lithuanian Energy Institute visited the Western Shipyard Group. This Shipyard Group is one of Lithuania's largest marine engineering corporations which main activities are the implementation of shipbuilding, ship repair, complex ship design, engineering solutions, etc. Maritime vessel transport faces a number of technical problems that are particularly relevant today, this is why science and business are working together to find technological solutions to address them.The workshop raised important issues related to sustainable maritime transport by promoting the effective implementation of technologies and the safe use of alternative fuels. Various international and national research and innovation funding schemes were presented and discussed, and experience shared. It was agreed to strenghten mutual collaboration between LEI and WSG in Horizon Europe and other programmes (Interreg, LIFE, etc.) as well as providing services the Company needs, i.e. use of ANSYS software.
